What you'll learn: How to view your team's upcoming birthdays and work anniversaries so you're never caught off guard.

Overview​

The Upcoming Celebrations view gives you a heads-up on milestones coming up in the next 30 days. Use it to:

  • Plan a personal message or gift ahead of time
  • Check if a team member's big day is just around the corner
  • Stay connected with remote or distributed team members

How to View Upcoming Celebrations​

  1. Open Microsoft Teams and navigate to Ava.

  2. Click Upcoming Celebrations from the Ava menu.

  3. Ava will display a list of upcoming milestones, sorted by date.

Reading the Celebrations List​

Each entry in the list shows:

Type🎂 Birthday or 💼 Work Anniversary
DateThe upcoming date (day and month)
Days AwayHow many days until the event

Note: Year privacy

Birthdates are shown as day and month only — years are never displayed to protect team members' privacy.

Filtering the List​

You can filter the upcoming celebrations by type:

  • All — show both birthdays and anniversaries (default)
  • Birthdays only — show 🎂 events only
  • Anniversaries only — show 💼 events only

What if the List is Empty?​

If the upcoming celebrations list is empty, it means either:

  • No team members have celebrations in the next 30 days, or
  • Your team hasn't submitted their dates yet

Tip: Admin? Collect dates from your team

If you're an admin and the list looks sparse, use the Collect Dates feature to send a request to team members asking them to submit their information.
